Literature Appreciation Course I – A Celebration of Irish Writing
April 9 @ 4:00 pm - April 12 @ 3:00 pm£255
Tutor: Hugh Parry
A taste of the delights to be found in Irish writing from the 18th century to the present day, with poetry, novels, short stories and drama all represented (with a little music!). Writers such as Sheridan, Beckett, George Moore and Roddy Doyle will ensure each session is very different, and will offer fine writing with no Blarney. No material will be repeated from the 2017 course.
Hugh Parry has offered adult education classes in literature for over 25 years. Although loyal all his life to Shakespeare, he has over the years given courses on a diverse range of topics, including detective fiction, Utopias, ghost stories , Cowper, Swift and R S Thomas.
Also known as the Sheik of Shellac, Hugh will be helping us celebrate the 125th anniversary in 2018 of the birth of the man to whom Parcevall Hall owes so much, Sir William Milner. Please see our event for 27th September.
