Silent Retreat: Experiencing God in Silence
November 2 @ 4:00 pm - November 4 @ 3:00 pm£156
Leader: Michael Jackson
Thomas Merton wrote that ‘in silence God ceases to be an object and becomes an experience’. This retreat will explore ways in which we might use silence to do just that. It will hopefully prove a good introduction to those who have not experienced a silent retreat before whilst also being accessible to those who have.
The Reverend Michael Jackson is now retired but is a former vicar of St. Michael the Archangel, Kirkby Malham and prior to that was for many years Director of St. John’s Winchester Charity, a charitable foundation providing sheltered housing and nursing care for older people. He has led a previous series of Quiet Days at Parcevall Hall.
