THE FRIENDS OF PARCEVALL HALL

The Hall does not receive any grants or external funding, so we are very fortunate in having the support of a substantial and very active group of Friends.

The Friends support the work of Parcevall Hall through prayer, practical help and an annual subscription which has provided funds over the years for refurbishment, new equipment and bursaries to assist those in need to be able to stay at the Hall.

Friends come together and meet at the Hall several times each year and receive a newsletter with details of forthcoming events and news from the Hall.

Our Guests Tell Us...

"A haven of warmth and hospitality. Many thanks."

“I have always found the atmosphere there so warm and welcoming, as if I am being given space to refresh myself without undue intrusion.  The care given by all the staff is exemplary.  I love the 'family-feel' home cooking that seems to be very much a mark of the special kind of hospitality at Parcevall.”

“The welcome at Parcevall is so warm that you feel part of an extended family. The unobtrusive way in which we are looked after is always appreciated; the attentive care for our every need being a hallmark of Parcevall hospitality. The house and gardens are delightful, the location idyllic. The quality of the food is excellent with more than sufficient. The house is very accommodating with its distinctive rooms and rare sense of peace. As a small group we appreciate being offered a place in which we can study, think and reflect together as well as the use of various spaces within the house and gardens and we value the ability to find quiet even when the Hall is busy.”

"Thank you for all your kind, generous, thoughtful and excellent hospitality."

"Thank you for the friendly welcome, the food, the gardens, the wonderful atmosphere and everything which makes Parcevall such a special place. I had a lovely weekend and didn't want to leave."

“It is possible to arrive at Parcevall in any state of mind, happy, ill, burdened, confused, or just tired out and what you receive turns out to be what is needed.”

“Underpinning all this is the tangible presence of the Lord; the mysterious factor that makes PH a retreat house, not a hotel, undefinably different. This I believe is due to PH being steeped in prayer, the dedicated staff & not forgetting the Chaplains. This tangible presence I know is felt by non-Christians who come for non-Christian meeting/conferences etc. They have asked ‘What is it that is so different about this place?’”

“I have always enjoyed the wonderful food, the relaxing ambience of the house and the friendly and very helpful staff. It is a wonderful place to come and find some space to really relax and to reflect.”

"A wonderful place for space to think and reflect. Amazing hospitality. Thank you."

“Parcevall Hall is a place of prayer but definitely not fasting & having such meals for any woman who has to plan, shop, cook and wash up normally put in front of her regularly is a holiday in itself. They also cater for any need. It is wonderful to have homemade food created just on the spot.”
